My ride in a 1926 Ford Model T:
This video is of me riding in a 1926 Ford Model T "Doctor's Coupe" on February 17, 2013, with Peter Smith, President of the Four Seasons Model T Association. The engine was loud, like a tractor engine. The T is powered by a 20 horsepower engine with a top speed of around 45 with a tailwind. It doesn't run as smoothly as cars do today, but as Mr. Smith said, "the horse and buggy people back then probably viewed it much differently." There are three pedals - high/low speed, reverse and brake pedals, but no gas pedal. The throttle is a stem off of the steering column. Drivers need to stay very focused when controlling this car. There is no heater, so a February drive in a T in Connecticut was very cold.
This video is from inside the T.
