Hateful articles against Jewish people (anti-semitic) were published in Ford's Dearborn Independent newspaper, distributed through Ford's dealerships. The Dearborn Independent also published The International Jew which had a big influence on the Nazis.
He received the "Grand Service Cross of the Supreme Order of the German Eagle", the highest honor of Nazi Germany to a foreigner.

It hurt the Ford Motor Company.
People of all religions objected to Ford's anti-semitism, including President Woodrow Wilson, and many boycotted Ford. He shut down the paper in 1927, and apologized in a public letter.
