Henry Ford and his Model T are prime examples of turning points in history for many reasons.  It was the first car that used an assembly line to be created; it was the first car that middle class citizens could afford; Ford created many well-paying jobs; and finally the millions of T's made travel between cities and rural areas more possible and forced the expansion of paved roadways.
"I will build a motor car for the great multitude...it will be so low in price that no man making a good salary will be unable to own one and enjoy with his family the blessing of hours of pleasure in God's great open spaces ...When I'm through, everybody will be able to afford one, and everyone will have one. The horse will have disappeared from our highways, the automobile will be taken for granted... and we will give large numbers of men employment at good wages."-- Henry  Ford
